What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end billing process, including preparing, editing, and finalizing client invoices in alignment with firm policies and client-specific guidelines
- Execute e-billing workflows with precision, ensuring compliance with electronic submission requirements
- Review and validate billing data to ensure accuracy of time entries, expenses, and supporting documentation
- Partner closely with attorneys, paralegals, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and optimize billing workflows
- Manage complex billing scenarios, including:
- Multi-matter and split-party billing
- Tiered or multiple discount structures
- Custom billing formats and electronic submissions
- Respond to client inquiries with professionalism, providing clarity on billing status, invoices, and payment activity
- Process write-offs in accordance with internal policies
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting, supporting leadership with key billing insights
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency and accuracy
What You Bring
- 3 years of law firm billing experience (required)
- Hands-on experience with Elite 3E, Aderant, or similar legal accounting systems
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of billing with accuracy and speed
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across attorneys, staff, and clients
- A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and operate with minimal direction
- Flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment, including occasional extended hours as needed
