The Role
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Plant Manager to lead our efforts in Greenwood, Indiana. This role is responsible for day-to-day operation of the facility, including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls, Information Technology, Maintenance, Materials, Quality, Human Resources, and Health & Safety departments. The Role
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Plant Manager to lead our efforts in Greenwood, Indiana. This role is responsible for day-to-day operation of the facility, including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls, Information Technology, Maintenance, Materials, Quality, Human Resources, and Health & Safety departments. The ideal candidate is an innovative, data-driven leader with a passion for learning and teaching and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Oversight: Clearly and effectively communicate plant and company goals, expectations and objectives to all staff and team members. Lead management meetings, high level corrective actions, operations reviews, and the general promotion of continual improvement as a business culture.
- Business Management: Execute all business plan objectives to ensure a profitable operation, achieving monthly P&L objectives. Strategize, plan and adjust business plan utilizing a complete risk and opportunity analysis and review monthly with executive leadership and plant leadership. Foster an environment conducive to identify and achieve continuous improvement activities above and beyond the business plan objectives.
- Team Leadership & Development: Create and sustain an environment with high levels of Employee Satisfaction, where all departments are held accountable to meet their performance objectives per plant goals, company goals and business objectives. Perform internal reviews, providing coaching, teaching and counseling as required.
- Problem Solving & Reporting: Ensure the successful launch of engineering changes, model changeovers and new programs. Comply with all company directed policies and procedures developed.
- Customer, Supplier & Executive Relationships: Create, maintain and foster positive relationships with key stakeholders. Responsible to meet customer requirements with regard to operational volumes, product quality and delivery.
- Safety & Other Duties: Foster a safety-first environment to achieve safety goals and objectives for the facility. Ensure the readiness of the facility for sudden catastrophic failures as outlined in the Disaster Recovery Process (i.e. Severe Weather, Fire, IT server failures, power failures, etc.). Ensure building and premises are secure from all non-authorized personnel. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or management discipline or equivalent combination of work and education.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant progressive experience in Automotive Manufacturing/Materials environment.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the business as well as executive leadership team.
- Must have extensive experience in Materials Management and Operations.
- Strong leadership abilities and organizational skills, with the ability to delegate and work well under pressure.
- Problem solving skills, proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.
- Up to 15% of travel required; valid driver's license required.
