What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer position at Emotiv Mobility?
What You’ll Do
- Design & Program Control Systems: Develop, configure, and test PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to meet production requirements.
- Troubleshoot & Maintain Equipment: Diagnose and resolve issues with automated equipment, controls, and related systems to minimize downtime.
- Implement Process Improvements: Support automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop Technical Documentation: Create and maintain wiring schematics, control layouts, and system operation manuals.
- Vendor Coordination: Obtain quotes, recommend suppliers, and manage installation of control devices and equipment.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all systems adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Support Maintenance Team: Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance technicians on control systems.
- Education: Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Controls, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in controls engineering or automation within manufacturing environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMI/SCADA configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with AutoCAD for panel design and Microsoft Office tools for documentation.
- Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply structured methodologies.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and lead technical initiatives.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% for project support and commissioning.
