Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shipping operations and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Manage and coordinate with shipping carriers and logistics providers.
- Develop and implement shipping policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage shipping costs and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams.
- Negotiate shipping rates and contracts with carriers.
- Track and report on shipping performance metrics.
- Resolve any shipping-related issues or discrepancies.
- Implement best practices to improve shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage and train shipping staff.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of shipments.
- Conduct regular audits of shipping processes and procedures.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in shipping regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping or logistics management.
- Experience with international shipping is a must have.
- Experience with HAZMAT shipping procedures.
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations and standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in shipping software and tools.
- Proficiency in Dynamics D365 ERP is a plus
- Ability to analyze and interpret shipping data.
