Quality Assurance Analyst

Location: Emery Oleochemicals – Cincinnati, OH

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Analyst I supports the implementation and maintenance of quality systems within Emery Oleochemicals’ chemical manufacturing operations. This role ensures that products meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards by monitoring quality data, maintaining documentation, supporting SAP quality processes, and assisting with corrective actions. The position works closely with Quality, Laboratory, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to maintain product quality and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain quality systems to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review laboratory data, batch records, and production documentation to verify product quality and specification compliance.
  • Maintain and update quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of quality systems such as ISO, GMP, and internal quality programs.
  • Administer customer documentation requests including questionnaires, surveys, electronic customer databases, product support documentation, certification statements, and recertification requests.
  • Support SAP Quality Management (QM) functions including monitoring inspection lots, assisting with material disposition, and supporting Certificates of Analysis.
  • Investigate quality deviations and non‑conformances and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Initiate or support Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR).
  • Assist with R&R studies and support statistical process control (SPC) charting and trend analysis.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits and support audit preparation activities.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies within the manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including supporting both Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions as business needs evolve and role responsibilities are further defined. Including cross-functional support between Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities as required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related scientific field; OR
  • Associate Degree in a related field with relevant laboratory or quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles and quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with chemical manufacturing processes and laboratory testing methods.
  • Experience with ISO standards, GMP practices, or other quality management systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory data, production records, and quality reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross‑functional teams.

Work Environment

This position operates within a chemical manufacturing and laboratory environment and may require interaction with production areas to support quality initiatives, investigations, and process improvements.
