Position Summary
The Operator is responsible for executing production activities safely and efficiently, including blending, loading, sampling, and monitoring operations to ensure product quality and compliance with production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Accurately calculate and prepare blends and load tank trucks or railcars in accordance with the production schedule, night notes, and operating conditions
- Collect samples to verify product quality and make decisions regarding proper product storage to ensure specifications are met
- Monitor inventory levels and make storage decisions to support shipping requirements
- Conduct routine rounds of the building and tank farms to identify abnormal conditions and take corrective action as needed
- Operate flaking rolls in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Ensure all blends meet customer specifications
Safety
- Follow all plant safety requirements in accordance with the SH&E manual and Safe Start principles
- Complete monthly safety training, preventive maintenance tasks, and attend required safety meetings
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) activities as required
Quality
- Accurately complete all required documentation, including blend calculations and SAP entries
Administrative
- Maintain housekeeping standards each shift to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Ensure consumable supplies (e.g., sample jars, gloves) are stocked to support efficient operations
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per week and extended shifts as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated reliability in attendance and adherence to safety practices
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
- 3–5 years of experience as a chemical operator
- Working knowledge of SAP and EPS systems
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (DuPont schedule)
