Boiler Operator – Job Summary

Duties:

• Operate and monitor boilers, controls, and auxiliary equipment.

• Operate manual valves and perform routine system checks.

• Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and wash-down using brooms, mops, brushes, and hoses.

• Read gauges and record operating data.

• Conduct water analysis using laboratory equipment.

• Change filter bags in multiple buildings and ponds; collect samples and take system readings.

• Travel up and down steps, uneven surfaces, and grated walkways.

• Climb ladders, including straight steel permanent ladders.

• Oversee sulfuric and caustic truck unloading operations.

Requirements:

• Must possess a current Third Class Stationary Engineer’s License or an Ohio Boiler Operator’s License.

• Experience operating boilers and auxiliary equipment with pneumatic, electronic, and computer controls in both automatic and manual modes is required.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Shifts begin at 4:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

• Must have the ability to work more than 8 hours per day and over 40 hours per week as required.

• The facility is a 24/7 operating plant.
