Summary
Provides direct and indirect supervision of the daily operations of EmergyCare's Ambulances, Medic Units, and Paratransit services (in the absence of the Paratransit Field Supervisor) under the direction of the on-duty Operations Manager.
Nature and Scope
The field supervisor is responsible for assisting the operations manager in ensuring all units' immediate and future operational capability. The Field Supervisor will monitor the availability of personnel and the condition of all vehicles and equipment. The Field Supervisor is expected to make line decisions for staff assignments and emergency situations, assist with remedial action, and provide employee assistance. The Field Supervisor will work closely with the Operations Manager on these line decisions. Important decisions, i.e., discipline, etc., will be approved by the Operations Manager or Director of Operations prior to action.
The Field Supervisor will regularly perform duties as a staff paramedic. In a mass casualty incident, the Field Supervisor will take EMS command and function as incident commander until the incident is either concluded or he/she is relieved by another EmergyCare officer of equal or higher authority, if necessary.
This person must be currently certified as a Paramedic by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and ACLS certification is a must. A minimum of two years previous field experience as a Paramedic under Medical Command is required; a demonstrated capacity for leadership is required. National Registry Certification, previous supervisory experience, and Erie area preceptor is also highly desirable. The incumbent must be able to complete critical care training successfully.

Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must meet requirements as outlined by management under the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) program.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current Driver's License, CPR Certification, Certified as a Paramedic by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, BTLS and ACLS Certifications.
Other Skills and Abilities
Minimum of two years previous field experience as a Paramedic under Medical Command. Demonstrated capacity for Leadership. Minimum of One year of Employment with the company as a Paramedic with Medical Command is preferred.
