This role partners with VA solution experts and Cerner teams to translate system capabilities, manage risks and issues, and support go-live and post–go-live activities.

Support the VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program by providing Cerner solution expertise, supporting workflow design, testing, and deployment, and enabling knowledge transfer to VA stakeholders. This role partners with VA solution experts and Cerner teams to translate system capabilities, manage risks and issues, and support go-live and post–go-live activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide Cerner solution expertise and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for VA national, VISN, and local stakeholders
- Translate Cerner capabilities and terminology for VA understanding
- Ramp up VA-assigned solution experts in their functional areas
- Support Solution Management Administrators (SMAs) with task orders and deliverables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Assist with current-state workflow and requirements analysis
- Review DoD lessons learned and incorporate applicable findings into VA workflows
- Attend Cerner workshops and support VA participants
- Assist with future-state workflow design and diagrams
- Identify workflow risks, gaps, and pain points
- Support escalation and resolution of trouble tickets and change requests
- Assist with reporting, mapping, and data identification
- Develop and support EHRM testing scripts and participate in all testing events
- Track issues and risks and support mitigation planning
- Collaborate with Cerner and VA on build, design, and workflow changes
- Review Cerner training materials and job aids
- Support cutover, go-live, and post–go-live activities
- Provide Oracle General Laboratory and Microbiology solution expertise
- 5 years of professional experience
- Ability to independently design or enhance healthcare/clinical software solutions
- Experience with current- and future-state workflow analysis
- Experience managing functional validation and end-user testing for Cerner or other EHR systems
- Strong risk identification and mitigation skills
- Experience conducting feasibility analysis for future initiatives
- Experience supporting root cause analysis and incident response efforts
- Experience using ServiceNow for reporting, ticket evaluation, and escalation
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience facilitating reviews, assessing stakeholder impact, and recommending optimizations
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or 8 additional years of relevant experience
- VA experience
- Cerner Millennium experience (2018 code levels preferred)
