What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Tax Manager position at Emerald Resource Group?
A well-established, full-service public accounting and business consulting firm is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join their growing tax practice. This firm has built its reputation on deep technical expertise paired with a genuinely collaborative, team-first culture, and they have been recognized in recent years as a top workplace and one of the best firms in the industry to work for.
In this role, you will lead complex tax engagements for privately held businesses, oversee tax planning and compliance work, and serve as a trusted advisor on matters like succession planning and individual tax strategy. You will work closely with a dedicated service team rather than operating in a silo, and you will have real ownership over client relationships and mentoring opportunities for junior staff.
What sets this firm apart is its entrepreneurial spirit balanced with a stable, multi-generational foundation. Employees describe a workplace that is rooted in tradition but modern in approach, where curiosity and continued learning are genuinely encouraged, not just talked about. The firm offers customized career development paths, a strong emphasis on work life balance, and a culture that prioritizes doing right by clients, people, and the community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, Master's in Taxation a plus
- Active CPA license required
- Approximately 8 or more years of progressive public accounting tax experience
- Prior experience managing engagements and supervising or mentoring staff
- Strong tax research, analytical, and project management skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
What they're looking for beyond the checklist:
- A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in long term client relationship building
- Comfort taking ownership of client relationships and contributing to business development
If you're a Tax Senior Manager ready to step into a firm where your expertise is valued and your growth is genuinely supported, I'd love to connect.
