What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Investment Banking position at Emerald Resource Group?
Vice President, Investment Banking | Dana Point, CA
Most IB shops at this level offer a title. This one offers deal flow, autonomy, and a seat at the table.
If you're a VP or a senior associate tired of waiting your turn, this is worth two minutes of your time.
Emerald Resource Group is placing a Vice President with a niche-focused M&A advisory firm in Dana Point. Forty plus years in the market, 300 closed transactions, and institutional backing from a global investment bank. A dominant position in their sector and a pipeline to match. This is not a startup finding its footing.
Why this role:
- You own transactions end to end, not just the workstreams someone hands you
- Established brand and warm deal flow, so you're closing rather than cold calling
- A real path to shaping the firm's growth, not a ladder with ten rungs above you
- And yes, the office is in Dana Point. Ocean, not open floor plan
What you'll own:
- Buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions from strategy through close
- Client relationships as the trusted advisor across the full deal lifecycle
- Deal teams: driving the analysis, setting strategic direction, developing talent
- Business development that shapes where the firm goes next
What you bring:
- 5 years in investment banking, M&A advisory, transaction advisory, or corporate finance
- A track record of getting complex deals across the finish line
- Strong modeling and valuation chops
- Series 79 or 82 preferred
- The ability to lead a room, manage a client, and mentor a team
