Regulatory Coordinator I
Location: Cleveland, OH 44115

Job Summary
The Regulatory Coordinator I supports global trade compliance activities by managing supplier and shipment data, ensuring accuracy of regulatory documentation, and maintaining compliance with international trade requirements. This role is responsible for data integrity, documentation review, and coordination across logistics, sourcing, legal, and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, solicit, and manage supplier-provided origin data, Free Trade Agreement (FTA) documentation, and Harmonized Tariff Code (HTS/HTC) information
- Compile, cleanse, validate, and maintain trade data for ERP systems and compliance platforms
- Assign and validate UN identification numbers for hazardous materials shipments in accordance with DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations
- Review Safety Data Sheets (SDS), FTA certificates, and regulatory documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Analyze import/export data to identify duty recovery and cost-saving opportunities
- Collect and verify shipment data from carrier and logistics systems, including low-value and express shipments
- Classify products under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), under supervision
- Prepare and issue Free Trade Agreement certificates by validating eligibility and required documentation
- Maintain accurate records, audit trails, and compliance documentation for audits and regulatory inquiries
- Collaborate with logistics, sourcing, legal, and compliance teams to resolve data gaps and ensure alignment
- Support additional trade compliance projects as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, International Relations, Chemistry, or related field or equivalent experience in import/export, customs brokerage, trade compliance, or regulatory roles
- 1–3 years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, import/export, transportation, or regulatory field
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with and analyzing large datasets
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of relevant trade compliance or regulatory experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with import/export operations and documentation
- Knowledge of Free Trade Agreements (USMCA/NAFTA, CAFTA, AUSFTA, etc.)
- Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification
- Understanding of hazardous materials transportation regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG)
- Experience with tariff or UN classification of chemicals
- Customer service or cross-functional coordination experience
