The Human Resources Director serves as a key member of the facility leadership team and is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, training, compensation, and retention initiatives. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while fostering a positive workplace culture that supports excellent resident care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Human Resources Leadership

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and operational needs.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational development.

• Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture focused on employee engagement and retention.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.

• Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.

• Ensure timely and effective onboarding for all new employees.

Employee Relations

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns, investigations, and conflict resolution.

• Coach managers on employee performance, disciplinary actions, and corrective action processes.

• Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee matters.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare regulations.

• Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation.

• Manage unemployment claims, workers' compensation cases, and leave administration.

• Coordinate workplace investigations and ensure policy compliance.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support

• Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefit-related inquiries.

• Support compensation planning and market competitiveness initiatives.

• Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate employee data and records management.

Training & Development

• Coordinate employee orientation and ongoing training programs.

• Support leadership development and succession planning initiatives.

• Promote professional growth opportunities and employee recognition programs.

Employee Retention & Engagement

• Analyze turnover trends and implement retention strategies.

• Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and engagement initiatives.

• Develop programs that strengthen workplace morale and employee appreciation.

QualificationsRequired

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.

• Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, and HR best practices.

• Experience managing employee relations, recruitment, and compliance programs.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a healthcare, long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or assisted living environment.

• Experience supporting union and non-union work environments.

• Knowledge of healthcare workforce regulations and accreditation requirements.
