High school diploma or GED is required. Associate’s degree from an accredited culinary institute is preferred; plus two years of food service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Functions
- Prepare consistent, high quality menu items, including grab-and-go options and the salad bar
- Operate the cash register as needed
- Tear down, clean, and sanitize, and reset the Jays Nest at the end of the night for the following morning.
- Safely and effectively used knives, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Always maintain highest levels of safety and sanitation
- Accurately maintain required sanitation, production, and equipment records
- Always ensure proper station coverage; cover co-workers breaks, and PTO as needed
- Train and work alongside student staff
- Work respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Assist other areas within Dining Services as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Attend department meetings and participate in decision-making
- Assist other areas within dining services
- Attend conferences to further education
- Conduct all responsibilities in a safe manner according to regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
