The Facilities Management Department at Elizabethtown College is currently seeking a Environmental Services Supervisor.
The primary purposes of this position are to ensure the cleanliness of the campus facilities and management of the Environmental Services (ES) staff that performs cleaning in accordance with the area cleaning plans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure the night crew staff get off to a good start, daily, answering questions and making any adjustments to the schedule based on staff attendance
- Support training for ES staff to ensure consistent cleaning procedures and equipment use
- Monitor performance of ES staff and manage performance improvement programs as needed to ensure a high level of cleanliness in college facilities
- Review area cleaning plans and adjust as necessary to balance cleaning effort equally among staff
- Jump in to support team in the field, either moving supplies, checking on progress, or supporting operations due to callouts
- Support Manager in planning, coordinating, and managing cleaning work during periods when students are not on campus, i.e.: Summer, Fall Break, Spring Break, December break
- Support major campus events such as Homecoming and Commencement
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Fulfill the duties of the Manager, in the absence of the Manager
- Distribute work order assignments, follow-up, ensure system notes “in process”, “on hold”, and “complete” as the work order moves through the process, do random quality checks on completed work orders
- Respond to emergencies, with needed staff, when we are called to do so
- Other duties as assigned
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct all responsibilities in a safe manner according to regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Respond to emergency and weather-related events as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises ES staff, contract employees, and student employees. This position is required to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Elizabethtown College’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, directing, and disciplining individuals; helping to appraise individual performance; and resolving complaints.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED is required; plus, four years of environmental services experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: This position requires a valid driver’s license for business travel purposes (individual must have a US driver’s license for at least three years; a motor vehicle record check will be run, and the incumbent must pass the College’s MVR rating system).
