Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Plan, organize, and direct all dance team practices, performances, and events.
- Develop and implement choreography for routines, performances, and competitions.
- Supervise and instruct dancers in proper techniques, safety practices, and performance skills.
- Attend all assigned games, performances, competitions, practices, and school-related events involving the dance team.
- Evaluate dancer skills and assign roles, formations, and positions accordingly.
- Instruct team members on rules, expectations, and performance standards.
- Demonstrate effective coaching techniques and leadership skills.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of dance techniques, choreography, and performance standards.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
- Observe dancers during practices and performances to determine areas for individual and team improvement.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior and provide proper supervision during all activities.
- Follow established procedures in the event of an emergency according to state, regional, and school guidelines.
- Model appropriate conduct and professionalism toward dancers, officials, and spectators.
- Serve as the team representative and promote the dance program through communication with the Athletic Director, administration, and community.
- Follow established procedures for ordering, distributing, and maintaining supplies, costumes, and uniforms.
- Develop and implement policies for team recognition and awards; submit award recipients at the end of the season.
- Organize and participate in special activities, including parent meetings, banquets, pep rallies, and school events.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

- The position also requires effective communication with parents and colleagues to support the holistic development of students and ensure alignment with school goals. Collaboration with other staff members will be essential to ensure a cohesive experience for all students.
