SUMMARY
The Custodian performs duties related to maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep within the Elizabeth Layton Center at the building to which the employee is assigned. Hours are 7am-3pm M-F. This position reports directly to the Facilities Coordinator.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Empty trash in offices, coffee room and breakroom
- Keep front entrance doors clean
- Clean lobby windows and mirror as needed
- Keep the lobby play area neat and attractive
- Dust and mop lobby daily
- Empty trashcans
- Dust all surfaces throughout building including offices. (i.e. counters, tables, shelves, window seals, etc)
- Straighten chairs, toys, etc. (lobby, conference rooms, playroom, and offices)
- Replenish paper products in All restrooms daily or as needed
- Clean and sanitize lobby restroom
- Water inside plants
- Notify Facilities Coordinator when cleaning supplies, paper products, trash bags, etc. are needed
- Assist with preparing rooms for meetings and luncheons
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of building
- May be requested to do additional tasks not listed above
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or GED
- Previous cleaning experience preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be reliable in attendance
- Must be able to follow instruction & comply with all ELC policies
- Must be able to successfully pass background & reference checks
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, and SKILLS:
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Ability to comply with relevant ELC policies and procedures.
- Ability to be self-motivated to recognize facility needs of ELC with limited supervision.
- Ability to safely perform major job responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodations.
