Position Summary
The Automotive Title Clerk will be responsible for processing a high volume of vehicle titles, registrations, and related documentation, with a strong emphasis on out-of-state title transactions.
This position requires someone who can confidently work with varying state title requirements, maintain accurate records, resolve title issues, and ensure transactions are completed within required timelines. The Title Clerk will also assist with daily schedule reconciliation and other dealership accounting and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
Process a high volume of out-of-state vehicle titles and registrations
Prepare and submit title paperwork according to individual state requirements
Ensure title transactions are accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines
Process title fees and related documentation
Research and resolve title, lien, registration, and documentation issues
Verify payoff information and coordinate title releases with financial institutions
Communicate with state DMVs/MVDs and other government agencies as needed
Maintain, reconcile, and balance daily title schedules
Monitor outstanding title work and follow up on pending transactions
Keep accurate and organized title records and documentation
Respond to customer inquiries regarding title and registration status
Work closely with Sales, F&I, Accounting, and management to resolve title-related issues
Assist the accounting and office team with administrative duties as needed
Ensure all title transactions remain compliant with applicable state regulations
Qualifications
Previous automotive dealership Title Clerk experience required
Strong experience processing out-of-state titles
Knowledge of varying state title and registration requirements
Arizona MVD/title experience preferred
Experience balancing daily schedules and maintaining title reconciliations
Ability to manage, clean, and follow up on title schedules
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment
Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
