Position Overview

ELITE Public Schools is a Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade school uniquely designed to eliminate the opportunity gap for African-American and Latinx students. Our vision is for all students to graduate trilingual — proficient in English, Spanish, and Coding.
We are seeking dedicated and student-centered coaches to join our athletic program. Coaches will become part of a collaborative team committed to providing strong leadership, mentorship, and support for our scholar-athletes as they develop their athletic skills, character, teamwork, and academic success both on and off the field.
The Varsity Soccer Head Coach is responsible for building and leading a successful high school soccer program that promotes athletic excellence, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and academic achievement. The Head Coach will provide instruction, mentorship, and supervision to student-athletes while fostering a positive and competitive team culture that aligns with the school’s educational mission and athletic standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee all aspects of the varsity soccer program
- Develop practice plans, game strategies, conditioning programs, and player development opportunities
- Teach fundamental and advanced soccer skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Promote academic success and positive behavior among student-athletes
- Supervise assistant coaches and coordinate program expectations
- Ensure student-athlete safety during practices, competitions, travel, and team events
- Maintain effective communication with families, school staff, athletic administration, and community stakeholders
- Adhere to all CIF, league, district, and school athletic policies and procedures
- Assist with scheduling, equipment management, transportation coordination, and program organization
- Support offseason training and program development efforts
- Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for the school community
Qualifications
- Previous soccer coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of high school athletics and CIF regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes
- Commitment to building an inclusive and positive team culture
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Completion of all district and CIF coaching requirements prior to season start
HomeCampus Requirements
All candidates must complete their HomeCampus profile and upload the following required certifications prior to the start of the season:
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
- NFHS Concussion in Sports
- NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest
- NFHS Heat Illness Prevention
- NFHS Cheer Safety Certification (if applicable)
Compensation: Seasonal stipend ranging from $2,000–$3,860, depending on experience, program needs, and available budget.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $2,000.00 - $3,860.00 per year
