Varsity Flag Football Head Coach
Position Overview
The Varsity Flag Football Head Coach is responsible for leading and developing a competitive high school flag football program that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, academic achievement, and student-athlete development. The Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the program, including player development, practice planning, game preparation, supervision of assistant coaches, and fostering a positive team culture aligned with the school’s mission and values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the varsity flag football program
- Develop and implement effective practice plans, game strategies, and skill development activities
- Promote academic success, sportsmanship, leadership, and positive character among student-athletes
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities
- Communicate effectively with students, families, school staff, officials, and community members
- Maintain compliance with all school, league, CIF, and district athletic policies and procedures
- Collaborate with athletic administration regarding scheduling, equipment, transportation, and program needs
- Support offseason conditioning, player development, and program growth initiatives
- Ensure proper care and inventory of equipment and uniforms
- Serve as a positive representative of the school and athletic program
Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience in flag football or related sport preferred
- Knowledge of CIF rules, regulations, and high school athletics
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes and families
- Commitment to equity, teamwork, and student development
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Completion of all district and CIF coaching requirements prior to season start

All candidates must complete their HomeCampus profile and upload the following required certifications prior to the start of the season:
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
- NFHS Concussion in Sports
- NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest
- NFHS Heat Illness Prevention
- NFHS Cheer Safety Certification (if applicable)
Seasonal stipend ranging from $2,000–$3,860, depending on experience, program needs, and available budget.
Pay: $2,000.00 - $3,860.00 per year
