Director of Lease Accounting
A leading organization is seeking an experienced Director of Lease Accounting to lead its enterprise lease accounting function and oversee a large-scale implementation of CoStar Real Estate Manager (CoStar REM). This is a high-impact leadership role combining technical accounting expertise, systems implementation, and cross-functional partnership.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, lease accounting systems, ERP integrations, and managing complex implementations across large lease portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end implementation and ongoing ownership of CoStar Real Estate Manager
- Manage lease data migration, system configuration, integrations, testing, and go-live activities
- Oversee ASC 842 compliance, lease accounting processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Partner with Accounting, Real Estate, IT, Internal Audit, and external auditors
- Develop and maintain SOX-compliant controls and governance processes
- Lead and mentor lease accounting professionals while driving process improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience with significant ASC 842 expertise
- Hands-on experience implementing or administering CoStar Real Estate Manager strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP integrations, data migrations, and UAT/testing
- Strong understanding of lease accounting systems and financial reporting
- CPA and Big 4/public accounting experience preferred
