Cost Accountant – Manufacturing Environment
Elite Placement Group is representing a growing organization seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on opportunity for a manufacturing accounting professional who enjoys partnering with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and leadership to drive business performance.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, inventory, and operational finance. This role requires someone who can analyze complex financial and operational data, identify cost drivers, and provide actionable insights that improve profitability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain product costing, bills of materials (BOMs), labor standards, and overhead rates
• Lead cost roll processes and ongoing ERP cost updates
• Perform standard vs. actual variance analysis and identify root causes
• Analyze purchase price variances (PPV), material costs, and inventory trends
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling
• Partner with Operations and Engineering on process improvements and cost savings initiatives
• Support inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and excess & obsolete analysis
• Provide reporting and insights to support strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience
• Strong understanding of standard costing, BOMs, routings, and manufacturing variances
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
Compensation: Competitive base salary ($100K–$120K range depending on experience)
