Law Enforcement Officer
Job Summary:
The Law Enforcement Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of people, property, and assets. This role involves patrolling assigned areas, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to incidents, and enforcing access control policies. The officer must carry a firearm (self-owned) and be prepared to respond appropriately to threats in accordance with legal and organizational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols of assigned premises.
- Monitor security systems and alarms to detect suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, alarms, or calls for assistance.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to access control, safety, and incident reporting.
- Deter criminal activity and ensure a secure environment for residents, clients, and visitors.
- Secure entrances, exits, and restricted areas as needed.
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain daily activity logs.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 100 pounds.
- Must be physically and mentally capable of handling confrontational or high-stress situations.
Work Environment:
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions.
- May involve exposure to high-risk or potentially dangerous situations.
Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued Armed Security Officer license (Armed SORA) REQUIRED.
- Have valid HR-218 or LEOSA or permit to carry firearm
- Position requires candidate to use their personal firearm
- High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED.
- Certification in firearm handling and ongoing qualification with weapons as required by state/local laws.
- Experience and training as Law Enforcement.
- Strong knowledge of security operations and safety practices.
- Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
- Excellent communication, observation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment (if required).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
