Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Department Supervisor to lead our logistics and warehouse distribution operations. This role is vital in ensuring the efficient management of shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory control, and optimizing warehouse processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics systems. As a Shipping Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations, coordinate with various departments, and implement process improvements to enhance overall productivity and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Make sure shipmates are packaged according to standards.
- Make sure shipments ship on time.
- Maintain the organization of the Shipping department.
- Maintain and organize finished goods inventory.
- Suppourt Purchasing by controlling inventory of boxes and crates.
- Lift and move, from one place to another, a minimmum of 50lbs throughout the day.
- Instruct subordinates in the safe operation of packaging equipment and lift trucks.
- Work with RanPac on the maintenance of their equipment.
- Make sure someone is assigned to load trucks until the end of the day.
- Work with Shipping Clerk to maximize efficency.
Experience
- Create and maintain a neat, well organized Shipping Department.
- Have the ability to identify and correct sub-standard packaging.
- Make recommendations for new procedures and tools to improve efficiencies.
- Observe all policies established in the handbook.
