Position Summary
The Senior Terminal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day terminal operations, ensuring efficient production flow, workforce coordination, and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role plays a key part in managing logistics, material handling, and shipment of finished elevator interior components to project sites. The Senior Terminal Supervisor will lead a team of production and logistics staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
Supervise all terminal operations, including receiving, staging, assembly, packaging, and outbound shipments.
Coordinate the flow of materials between manufacturing, warehouse, and project sites to meet delivery schedules.
Monitor daily production targets and ensure projects meet deadlines with high quality and efficiency.
Team Leadership
Lead, train, and mentor terminal staff, including warehouse associates, drivers, and material handlers.
Create and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
Quality & Safety
Enforce all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and quality standards.
Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
Ensure products are properly handled, packaged, and stored to maintain quality integrity.
Inventory & Logistics Management
Oversee inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with carriers, vendors, and project managers.
Maintain accurate documentation for shipments, inventory, and work orders.
Continuous Improvement
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
Support lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives within the terminal.
Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
5 years of experience in warehouse, terminal, or production supervision (manufacturing or construction environment preferred).
Strong understanding of logistics, scheduling, and material flow.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
Working knowledge of ERP systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain one preferred.
