Interim Technical Accounting Consultant

Technical Accounting Consultant | Public Company | M&A / Complex Accounting

Elevate Recruiting is partnering with a large public company to identify a hands-on Technical Accounting Consultant with deep expertise in complex accounting transactions, M&A activity, and financial reporting.

This is not a purely advisory role—we’re looking for someone who enjoys getting into the details, drafting technical memos, researching accounting treatment, and ensuring complex transactions are properly documented and audit-ready.

What you’ll be responsible for:

✅ Lead technical accounting analysis for complex transactions, acquisitions, investments, consolidations, and collaborative agreements

✅ Evaluate and account for acquisitions, VIEs, derivatives, contingent consideration, and other complex accounting matters

✅ Research accounting guidance and draft technical accounting memos that clearly document conclusions and withstand audit review

✅ Partner with internal teams to gather support, analyze transactions, and ensure GAAP compliance

✅ Support month-end close activities including equity method investments, journal entries, and reconciliations

✅ Assist with external financial reporting, including financial statements, disclosures, and SEC reporting requirements

What we’re looking for:

✔️ 8–10 years of technical accounting experience (Senior Manager level or above preferred)

✔️ Big 4 background in Audit, Deals, Transaction Advisory, or M&A Accounting

✔️ Strong experience with acquisitions, VIEs, consolidations, derivatives, and complex investments

✔️ Proven ability to independently draft technical accounting memos and support conclusions

✔️ Public company experience with complex accounting environments

✔️ Active CPA required
