Overview
We are partnering with a growing, privately held organization to identify an experienced Controller to oversee the company’s financial operations. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and partnering with leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee core accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and the monthly close process.
- Develop accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Monitor financial performance across multiple business lines and operational departments.
- Review and approve expenditures, contracts, and vendor payments to ensure alignment with budgets and financial objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational improvements, capital investments, and long-term planning initiatives.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department leaders.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executive leadership and ownership.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure reporting integrity.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Partner closely with executive leadership and operational teams to support decision-making and organizational initiatives.
- Collaborate across departments to improve processes, enhance reporting visibility, and ensure alignment between finance and operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 8 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements and providing strategic financial insights.
- Experience with financial systems implementations, upgrades, or process improvements is highly desirable.
- Strong technical accounting foundation with proficiency in accounting and ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
