Career Placement CoordinatorReports to: Lead Building AdministratorSalary: DOEJob SummaryThe Career Placement Coordinator (CPC) is responsible for helping students identify, prepare for, and secure meaningful Next Step opportunities upon graduation. This role supports Elevate Academy's mission by connecting students to career pathways, post-secondary education, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities aligned with their skills and goals.The CPC builds strong relationships with industry partners, coordinates work-based learning opportunities, tracks student outcomes, and helps students develop the skills necessary to transition successfully into the workforce or further education. The CPC also leads the school's 80 FOR 80 Next Step initiative, ensuring that every graduating senior has a clear and attainable plan for life after high school.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStudent Career Preparation and Next Step DevelopmentSupport students in identifying and preparing for their Next Step after graduation, including employment, apprenticeships, military service, or post-secondary education.Guide students in understanding how their trade skills, academic preparation, and character development align with real-world career opportunities.Help students develop professional skills including resume writing, interview preparation, workplace communication, and career planning.Coordinate with counselors and teachers to support students in developing a clear pathway aligned with their strengths, values, and goals.Assist students in understanding certification opportunities, industry expectations, and workforce requirements. 80 FOR 80 Next Step SigningsCoordinate the implementation of the 80 FOR 80 Next Step Signing initiative, ensuring every senior secures a meaningful Next Step opportunity.Create a culture where students take pride and ownership in their Next Step pathway.Organize and celebrate Next Step signings to highlight student achievements and strengthen Elevate Academy's culture.Work with students, families, and employers to verify Next Step commitments.Maintain accurate documentation of student placements and Next Step commitments.
Work-Based Learning CoordinationCoordinate student participation in work-based learning opportunities including internships, work study, and industry placements.Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and counselors to approve student work release opportunities.Ensure work-based learning opportunities align with student career pathways and trade programs whenever possible.Monitor student participation in work study programs and verify schedules, hours, and employer expectations.Support students in developing professional responsibility and workplace communication skills.Verify student work schedules and documentation related to work release credits. Community and Industry PartnershipsBuild and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, employers, industry partners, and community organizations.Identify new employment opportunities and career pathways for students by connecting with businesses and industry leaders.Represent Elevate Academy in the community and strengthen the school's reputation as a workforce development leader.Participate in networking events, chambers of commerce, and industry gatherings to expand career opportunities for students.Coordinate employer visits, guest speakers, and industry tours to expose students to real-world career environments.Career and Technical Education AlignmentCollaborate with CTE instructors to ensure students understand career pathways within their trade programs.Track industry certifications earned by students and help students understand how certifications connect to employment opportunities.Support students in applying for industry credentials and certifications aligned with their trade pathway.Assist with tracking student certification outcomes and workforce readiness indicators.Alumni and Outcome TrackingTrack student outcomes after graduation to ensure students are successfully transitioning into careers or post-secondary education.Maintain contact with alumni to monitor employment status, career growth, and wage outcomes.Collect and maintain accurate alumni data to support school accountability and program improvement.Support efforts to keep alumni connected to Elevate Academy and provide ongoing career resources when appropriate.Additional ResponsibilitiesEncourage strong collaboration between the school, families, and community partners.Support school events and initiatives that connect students with industry partners and career opportunities.Maintain accurate student placement data and career outcome records.Participate in professional development related to workforce development, career readiness, and industry partnerships.Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Building Administrator.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Strong ability to build relationships with students, employers, and community partners.Knowledge of workforce development, career pathways, and post-secondary opportunities.Ability to motivate students and support them in achieving their career goals.Strong organizational and data tracking skills.Effective communication and networking skills.Ability to collaborate with school staff, industry partners, and community organizations.Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology systems for student tracking and communication. QualificationsBachelor's degree in education, workforce development, business, or related field preferred.Experience in career placement, workforce development, industry relations, or education preferred.Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with employers and community organizations.Experience working with high school students and career readiness programs preferred.Physical RequirementsRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.Operate a computer and other office equipment.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
