What are the responsibilities and job description for the Channel Manager position at Electroswitch?

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Channel Manager is a key contributor to Electroswitch’s expansion within the distribution sales channel. This individual will lead the development and execution of the company’s distribution strategy and play a critical role in driving profitable growth.

Working closely with Regional Sales Managers, the Channel Manager will identify, recruit, and manage distribution partners to ensure strong market coverage across the United States and Canada. The role is responsible for managing distributor relationships, agreements, policies, inventory programs, and supporting distributor eCommerce initiatives.

The Channel Manager will conduct regular business reviews with key partners, ensure alignment with Electroswitch’s brand and growth objectives, and drive consistent performance across the channel.

Electroswitch is seeking a candidate who takes ownership of their responsibilities, demonstrates strong accountability for results, and is committed to achieving company sales goals and departmental objectives while collaborating effectively across the organization.

This position is based in Raleigh, NC, though remote candidates will be considered. Travel of approximately 25% or more is required.

Key Responsibilities

Channel Strategy & Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive distribution strategy based on industry best practices and benchmarking.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard distribution partners to ensure appropriate market coverage across the U.S. and Canada.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key personnel at distributor organizations.
  • Lead joint planning processes with distributor partners to establish mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and growth milestones.
  • Monitor partner performance and implement improvement plans when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with distributor agreements, policies, and operational standards.

Partner Management & Enablement

  • Ensure distribution partners understand Electroswitch processes and can effectively navigate available tools and resources.
  • Support distributor initiatives including inventory management, stock rotation programs, and eCommerce development.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key partners to evaluate performance and drive growth opportunities.
  • Provide input to support development of sales and marketing materials, promotional programs, and incentive initiatives for distribution partners.
  • Direct channel-generated leads to the appropriate internal sales resources.
  • Manage distributor inquiries, issues, and escalations to resolution.
  • Manage and resolve channel conflicts between distribution partners and other sales channels.

Market Intelligence & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate market conditions, opportunities, competitive activity, and potential risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, product management, and marketing teams to align on customer needs and new product opportunities.

Performance, Metrics & Reporting

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales and profitability targets within the distribution channel.
  • Develop and execute account penetration strategies for targeted distributor partners.
  • Maintain accurate and real-time information in Salesforce.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the Director of Sales and executive leadership team.
  • Manage travel and expenses within the allocated budget.

Relationship Management & Collaboration

  • Build strong working relationships at all levels within distributor organizations.
  • Conduct in-person distributor visits as needed to maximize channel effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support company objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Salary : $100,000 - $145,000
