Electrical Helper / Apprentice

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support licensed electricians in various tasks related to electrical installations and repairs. This role is essential for ensuring that projects are completed safely and efficiently on construction sites. The Electrician Assistant will gain hands-on experience while working alongside skilled professionals in both commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with electrical installations and maintenance
• Follow safety protocols and regulations on job sites
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project success
• Install and repair electrical equipment and fixtures
• Install various types of raceways and cable tray systems
• You will work in all phases of underground construction including but not limited to: Loading, driving, digging, trenching installing conduit, and pulling wire
• Adhere to all safety codes
• Perform daily inspections of vehicles and equipment
• You will hand dig using a shovel and/or mechanical tools
• Organized, reliable, and a good attitude 

Duties

• Assist electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
• Help in the setup of power tools and other equipment necessary for electrical work.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment on sites.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Experience

• 2 years of experience or familiarity with electrical work in the electrical field is preferred. 
• Knowledge of commercial or industrial electrical systems is a plus.
• Experience using power tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters is beneficial.
• Understanding of basic construction site practices and safety measures.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn from experienced electricians.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required; technical training or electrical apprenticeship preferred 
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Availability for overtime and weekend shifts
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Able to work in outdoor environments in various and possibly extreme weather conditions.
• Able to climb, stoop, kneel, squat.
• Maintain truck in orderly fashion.
• Ability to travel on a weekly basis is a requirement.
• Must be willing to work long hours when needed to facilitate completion of emergency power outages.  
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks including, bending, standing, and carrying objects for long periods of time. Trenching, digging, and working in confined spaces.
