Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Apprentice to join our team. This hands-on role supports licensed electricians with electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, primarily on commercial, industrial, and underground construction sites. The position ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification, while providing a structured learning experience for skill development and career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with installations, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and equipment
- Install electrical equipment, fixtures, raceways, and cable tray systems
- Participate in all phases of underground construction, including loading, driving, digging, trenching, installing conduit, and pulling wire
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans
- Set up and safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (e.g., voltmeters, ohmmeters)
- Conduct daily inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas on-site
- Follow all safety protocols, codes, and company procedures
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project success
Experience & Qualifications
- 2 years of experience or familiarity with electrical work preferred
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial electrical systems a plus
- Experience using power tools and testing equipment beneficial
- Understanding of basic construction site practices and safety measures
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn from experienced electricians
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required; technical training or electrical apprenticeship preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, and emergency situations as needed
- Ability to travel weekly as required by project demands
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs, with or without assistance
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and balance for extended periods
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including trenching, digging, shoveling, hand excavation, and working in confined spaces
- Ability to maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
