Property Manager – Mission‑Oriented Affordable Housing

Elderly Housing Management (EHM) provides safe, affordable homes where dignity and compassion come home. Our mission is to preserve quality, affordable housing and support residents’ well‑being. We’re looking for a property manager who shares our commitment to service and has hands‑on experience with subsidized housing programs such as HUD or LIHTC.
What You’ll Do
- Budget & financial management: Plan and manage annual operating budgets; review monthly financial reports and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintenance & inspections: Proactively plan maintenance to extend the life of buildings; conduct regular property and unit inspections; create action plans for corrections and follow up.
- Leasing & compliance: Manage applications, waiting lists and leasing; ensure resident files comply with regulatory expectations; oversee affirmative fair housing marketing and enforce leases.
- Regulatory oversight: Prepare for regulatory inspections; manage monthly subsidy submissions; maintain full compliance with federal/state guidelines for subsidized housing.
- Resident services & community: Work with resident services coordinators to connect residents to community resources; foster a welcoming environment that encourages resident engagement.
- Team leadership: Hire, train and supervise site staff; oversee vendor contracts and prepare reports for the board of directors.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least five years of property management, including two years supervising staff; demonstrated success managing affordable or subsidized housing (HUD/LIHTC).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, facilities management or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Strong communication, budgeting, and organizational skills; proficiency with compliance software (e.g., Yardi, OneSite) and Microsoft Office; valid Connecticut driver’s license.
- Certifications (preferred): CPM, COS, ARM, LIHTC C3P or similar credentials
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
