Our facility also offers assisted living beds and utilizes medication aids to support resident well-being.
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Night Shift Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality patient care during overnight hours, providing critical assessments, administering medications, and supporting residents with complex medical needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for our residents.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents during the overnight shift, including vital signs assessment, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
- Perform detailed patient assessments and document findings accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Manage acute pain and assist with complex medical procedures, including IV infusions, catheter care, and sterile techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to residents' needs.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent health concerns, utilizing airway management and basic life support skills as needed.
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques and behavioral health interventions.
- Maintain infection control standards and adhere to safety protocols throughout all patient interactions.
- Proven experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, skilled nursing homes, or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and documentation standards for medical records.
- Experience managing complex cases involving infectious diseases, hospice care, or post-acute recovery is advantageous.
- Strong background in emergency medicine or hospital medicine with familiarity in triage and acute pain management.
- Ability to work independently during night hours while maintaining excellent patient assessment skills and physiology knowledge.
