We are building a disciplined, hospitality-driven opening team of front-of-house professionals committed to delivering exceptional service, operational excellence, and memorable guest experiences.
The Assistant General Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting all aspects of dining room operations while working closely with the General Manager, Chef team, and ownership. This position plays a critical role in shaping the culture, standards, and daily execution of service at Elder.
This is not a purely administrative management role—it is an active floor position rooted in hospitality, operational discipline, accountability, and team development. The ideal candidate leads by example, thrives in high-performance environments, and understands that exceptional guest experiences are built through consistency, communication, and attention to detail.
As Elder grows, this role is designed to evolve into a senior operational leadership position within the hospitality group, contributing to the long-term growth and success of future concepts.
Key ResponsibilitiesDining Room Leadership & Service Execution
- Lead and support daily FOH operations with professionalism and precision
- Maintain elevated hospitality standards, service timing, communication, and floor awareness
- Actively manage service flow while ensuring seamless coordination between FOH and BOH teams
- Provide visible leadership during service while remaining calm, composed, and solution-oriented
- Assist in maintaining a culture of accountability, professionalism, and hospitality excellence
Team Development & Training
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of FOH team members
- Lead ongoing service education and standards training
- Ensure consistency in steps of service, guest communication, menu knowledge, and operational execution
- Coach and mentor staff through direct floor presence and constructive feedback
- Foster a team-oriented environment focused on growth, discipline, and collaboration
Guest Experience
- Maintain a strong and active presence on the dining room floor
- Handle guest relations with professionalism, emotional intelligence, and urgency
- Anticipate guest needs while creating thoughtful and personalized dining experiences
- Resolve service challenges proactively and professionally
- Support reservation management and VIP guest experiences alongside management team
Operations & Administration
- Assist with scheduling, labor management, and payroll oversight
- Support inventory systems, ordering processes, and operational organization
- Ensure accuracy of POS systems, menus, service materials, and daily operational checklists
- Monitor cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation of the restaurant
- Participate in administrative responsibilities necessary for smooth daily operations
General Operational Support
- Work closely with the General Manager and Chef team to ensure alignment between service and culinary execution
- Support all areas of the restaurant as needed to uphold operational standards
- Participate in pre-service meetings, service planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a demanding opening environment
- 2–4 years of management experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality environments
- Michelin-starred or highly structured fine dining experience preferred
- Strong understanding of high-level hospitality and dining room operations
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to perform with composure and precision in a structured, fast-paced environment
- Hands-on leadership style with strong floor presence
- Commitment to accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement
- Experience with scheduling, labor management, POS systems, and operational oversight preferred
