Job Summary
Hiring Range: $20.000 - $21.525 (commensurate with qualifications)
This position is required to be onsite and is not eligible for remote work. This is a temporary position, working a minimum of 16 hours per week and a maximum of 24 hours per week.
Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.

Contributes to the maintenance and distribution of information and environments in support of El Paso County’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Assists in a variety of tasks and activities within a team setting to accomplish the goals of Digital, Services, & Technology (DST) Department.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. May be required to lift office supplies weighing up to 25lbs. This is a temporary position typically not to exceed six months.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains various spatial features and databases for use by all County departments and offices.
- Processes requests for coverages, tables, statistics, maps, and feature classes to satisfy internal and external client requests.
- Performs data collection tasks necessary to complete internal and external client requirements.
- Employs quality control techniques to protect integrity of County data.
- Prepares County data releases for internal and external clients.
- Assists Customer Support team to deploy and troubleshoot GIS software installations when necessary.
- Aids County employees by resolving problems while explaining GIS best practice procedures and methodologies.
- Conducts program, system, and integration testing; analyzes test results to detect errors.
- Participates in the development of new GIS techniques and standards.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to interact with others and communicate effectively.
- Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with DST staff during cross-disciplinary tasks.
- Must be able to work both independently as well as in a team environment
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a computer science, information technology, geography, planning, or related degree program at an educational institution.
- Experience or related coursework with ESRI GIS software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, etc.).
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, drug screen, and physical examination.
