Brief Job Description

As a Gift Shop Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the gift shop. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting customers with their purchases, maintaining inventory levels, processing transactions accurately, and keeping the gift shop area clean and organized. This position requires excellent communication skills, a friendly and approachable demeanor, and a strong attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Availability: Must have full availability for day, swing, grave shifts, work extended hours, weekends, and holidays. as this is an on-call/extra position.
• Cash Handling: Proficiency in handling cash and processing various forms of payment accurately.
• Previous experience in a similar setting.
• Must be 21 years of age.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing product information, suggestions, and recommendations. Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and handling complaints courteously and efficiently.
• Maintain an attractive and well-organized display of merchandise. Stock shelves and racks, monitor inventory levels, and replenish items as necessary. Arrange products in an appealing manner to maximize sales opportunities. Keep up to date with current merchandise and promotions.
• Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately and securely. Process credit and debit card payments and provide receipts to customers. Balance cash register at the end of each shift and report any discrepancies.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and inspecting merchandise deliveries. Ensure proper storage and labeling of inventory. Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and communicate inventory needs to the supervisor. Assist in managing stock rotation and participate in periodic inventory audits.
