Part-Time Design Communications Program Manager (Remote | U.S.-Based | ~20 hrs/week)
We’re looking for a Design Communications Program Manager to help shape both external design presence and internal knowledge systems. This role blends content strategy, editorial leadership, and knowledge management—supporting both outward-facing storytelling and internal documentation excellence.
You’ll oversee blog and social content while ensuring the Design team’s knowledge ecosystem is organized, accessible, and impactful. This is a highly collaborative role working across internal and external audiences.
What You’ll Do
Serve as Editor of the Design Blog: source relevant content (including AI and design topics), guide contributors, and review/edit/publish content with a balance of timely and evergreen value
Manage design-focused social media channels, creating and executing engaging content strategies to grow audience reach
Own and maintain the editorial calendar across blog and social platforms
Support contributors end-to-end: vet pitches, provide editorial guidance, onboard new writers, and maintain documentation and best practices
Create original content as needed
Audit, organize, and maintain internal Design documentation for clarity, accuracy, and accessibility
Partner with Design teams to improve internal communicationfs and onboarding experiences
Establish and manage a knowledge management framework (naming conventions, ownership, archiving practices)
Experiment with and champion AI tools to improve content workflows and scalability
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years of experience in blog and/or social media management, with 5 years overall in communications or related fields
Strong understanding of content planning, writing for the web, and design best practices across blogs and social platforms
Experience with knowledge management systems or internal documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Notion, Google Drive)
Proven ability to audit and organize large volumes of content, identifying gaps and improving clarity
Ability to balance both external and internal communications, adapting tone and format accordingly
Familiarity with AI tools for writing and productivity, with a curiosity for scaling content workflows
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work across time zones in a remote environment
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and innovate
Collaborative approach, comfortable working across diverse teams and levels
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
