Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Engineer, Supply Chain, to join our team in Atlanta.
The role of the Principal Engineer is to architect and design modern, cloud-native supply chain solutions with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in retail supply chain systems, strong technical leadership, and the ability to guide the migration of on-prem systems to the cloud.
This position requires hands-on technical skills, a strong understanding of supply chain operations, and the ability to lead and collaborate across engineering and business teams. Experience with Inventory Planning & Replenishment systems, such as Manhattan Associates DFIO, is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Overall ownership of architecture and technical roadmap for all applications used for Inventory Planning and Replenishment (IP&R)
- Architect, design, and implement scalable and secure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid cloud environments
- Provide a migration path and strategy for on-premise applications moving to Google Cloud Platform
- Offer security guidance for both on-prem and cloud-based applications
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, development, product, and business teams to ensure scalable, secure, and performant systems
- Guide and mentor teams on best practices in cloud engineering, architecture, and automation
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX)
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10 years of experience designing and building Supply Chain solutions
- 10 years of experience working with large-scale RDBMS or Google BigQuery
- Strong technical skills in architecture, system design, and modern cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and its ecosystem
- Proven leadership and ability to influence across cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of retail supply chain systems and operations
- Proficient in Python, Shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL
- Experience with Change & Release processes, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiar with high availability (HA) systems, high transaction volumes, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery
- Background in security best practices and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Experienced in process reviews, continuous improvement, and automation
- Ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity and learning new technologies outside of your current expertise
Good to Have
- Experience with Inventory Planning & Replenishment (IP&R) systems
- Familiarity with Manhattan Associates DFIO or equivalent forecasting/replenishment tools
- Knowledge of streaming data platforms such as STRIIM, Kafka, or Google Pub/Sub
