Job Summary:
- We are seeking a Junior Project Manager with an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification to support project delivery for our federal government clients.
- The Junior PM will assist in managing the full project lifecycle from planning and execution through monitoring and closeout ensuring all activities comply with federal standards, contract requirements, and organizational PMO processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation activities under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager.
- Coordinate with federal stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
- Maintain and update project documentation in accordance with agency standards (e.g., project charters, risk registers, change requests, meeting minutes).
- Track and report project progress using PM tools and dashboards (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent).
- Assist in preparing project reports and presentations for internal and external briefings.
- Identify and help mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate as appropriate.
- Support contract deliverable management and quality assurance reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of PMO templates, tools, and methodologies.
Experience Required:
- Active PMP certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- 1–3 years of experience supporting project management, coordination, or PMO functions in a federal contracting or government environment.
- Familiarity with project management standards (PMBOK), risk management, and change control processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management tools (MS Project, SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting federal IT modernization, cybersecurity, or infrastructure initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Additional certifications such as CAPM, CSM, or SAFe are a plus.
- Prior experience with agencies such as DHS, DOJ, HHS, DoD, or GSA is advantageous.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant Certification (Required):
- Project Management Professional (PMP).
