Job Title: Engineering Manager / Leader (Software Developer Architect/System Engineer)Employment Type: Full-Time role (40 hours per week)Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract requirements.Work Mode: Onsite in Coronado, CATravel: Required as needed to U.S. work locations.Security Clearance & Compliance Requirements:Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance is mandatory at the time of application (must be current and verifiable).Clearance must be maintained throughout the duration of employment.Position Overview:The Engineering Manager / Leader will Lead and manage engineering efforts to design, build, and deliver high-impact, scalable technical solutions, Special Warfare’s digital modernization.Provide hands-on technical leadership, roadmap execution, and stakeholder coordination to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient systems.Responsibilities:Partner with Government and stakeholder personnel to define and communicate the engineering team’s roadmap and vision.Align engineering objectives and deliverables with broader organizational goals and mission priorities.Provide technical guidance and hands-on contributions to solve complex engineering challenges when required.Oversee day-to-day execution of the engineering roadmap from project inception through delivery and sustainment.Contribute to the design and evolution of system and software architectures, including capacity planning and tooling strategies.Prioritize technical challenges, manage resource allocation, and adjust plans to meet performance, schedule, and quality expectations.Lead and facilitate technical architecture discussions and decision-making with cross-functional participants.Ensure creation, maintenance, and organization of appropriate technical documentation and system artifacts.Stay current with best practices, standards, and emerging technologies in developer infrastructure and apply them where appropriate.Collaborate with business, engineering, and analytics stakeholders to support data-driven and cloud-enabled solutions.Review and evaluate code for quality, performance, and security as part of the development lifecycle.Support integration of CI/CD, automation, and testing capabilities into development and deployment workflows.Experience Required: 10 years writing code; 10 years industry experience in an engineering management role in a Scrum-based environment.Skills and Tools:Experience with systems, networking, troubleshooting; proficiency in code review; experience with CI/CD, automation, pipelines, and automated testing; familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment (build, validate, release, operate)Key Skills:Motivated by optimizing engineering teams and improving engineering effectiveness Outstanding communication skills, including visual presentation of complex data and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences Proficient technical writing skills.Engineering team leadership and roadmap execution in a Scrum-based environment Developer infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline design, automation, and operations Systems architecture, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale troubleshootingEducational Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
