General ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to an ECE Manager, the Early Learning Trainer facilitates training for child care providers, families, Pre-K-3 educators, and program staff in Southwest Washington.Salary:The full range for this position is $40,357.20 - $49,108.80. Offers are made at the entry level of the range. Assignment:This position will work 30 hours per week, year-round and serve the ESD 112 Service region (Southwest Washington). The position also requires a criminal history check and fingerprint check through the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), proof of MMR immunization, a health exam and TB test prior to starting. In addition, the person in this role will need to obtain Approved State Training and Registry System (STARS) Trainer status (Level 1-3) within 60 days of employment through DCYF.Regular attendance required: This role relies on regular and reliable attendance to ensure consistency for our students and help support a positive, productive learning environment.First review of applications will be April 1, 2026Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:
- Deliver pre-developed training curriculum for birth to third grade classroom teachers, providers, and family members.
- Facilitate participant engagement through in-person, virtual, and self-paced platforms.
- Facilitate job-embedded learning opportunities and consultation associated with training content.4. Assist with the planning and development of the training calendar.
- Complete and maintain training files and databases with necessary paperwork and records.
- Attend train the trainer events and maintain necessary trainer certification.
- Maintain regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Uphold the Vision, Values and Commitment to Professionalism of the ECE Department at ESD 112.
- Attend internal and community meetings, events, and professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human/Social Services or Family Studies, Child
- Development, or a closely related field; OR an associate's degree in any of the above and two years of experience working in early learning.
- Experience working in a child care/early learning setting.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and database entry and/or management.
- Experience with videoconferencing software, such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English.
- Three years or more experience working in a licensed childcare program.
- Experience with training delivery and facilitation.
- Active State Training and Registry System (STARS) Trainer status (Level 1-3).
- Travel across Southwest Washington as needed.
- Frequent sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting to 30 pounds.
- Physical environment may include office setting, remote office setting, early learning centers, family home child cares, or community work sites.
- Extended and/or flexible hours as necessary, to accommodate evening and weekend training facilitation.
- Successful completion of a criminal history through Washington State Patrol and fingerprint check through the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF).
- Required to complete a bachelor's degree within four years of hire date.
- Tuberculosis test to meet state health requirements.
- Health Exam.
- Proof of MMR vaccination or exemption.
- Approved State Training and Registry System (STARS) Trainer status (Level 1-3) within 60 days of employment through Department of Children, Youth, and Families.
