The Big Walnut Local School District is looking for licensed teachers to fill multiple Teacher on Special Assignment: Instructional Coach positions in our elementary schools.
Description:
The Instructional Coach will provide ongoing, job-embedded training and support for teachers in curriculum and instruction. It is a 185-day contract to begin with the start of the 2026.2027 school year.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coach instructional staff to meet the needs of every student
- Implement and provide professional development on research-based best practices
- Serve as catalyst for innovation in teaching and learning
- Support the implementation of curriculum
- Conduct coaching cycles with staff
- Support intervention with training, walkthroughs, and feedback
- Assist with data teams, progress monitoring, and the generation of forms and letters associated with MTSS and other state requirements related to benchmark assessments.
- Contribute to district level decision making on issues related to academic achievement
- Guide and support instructional teams in implementing the District academic vision
- Provide leadership and professional development on Ohio and District academic standards
- Provide leadership and professional development on the use of assessments to personalize and improve instructional practices and strategies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have valid and appropriate licensure with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce teaching license
- Current and clear BCI/FBI background checks

- Strong listening skills, confidentiality and ability to facilitate meetings
