What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Instructional Coach Position for the 2026-27 School Year position at Educational Service Center of Central Ohio?
Instructional Coaches provide job-embedded, sustained professional learning in support of the district focus improvement strategies, with a particular emphasis on implementation of Ohio Learning Standards and collaboration that builds collective efficacy. Coaches serve two schools and also have district-level responsibilities. This position will serve two schools.

Qualifications
- State of Ohio Educator License (e.g. K-5, K-8, 4-9, K-12)
- At least 3 years of successful teaching experience
- Proven track record of student achievement
- Exemplary interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and strategic planning skills; ability to balance multiple priorities
- Demonstrated knowledge of how to use instruction to reach student achievement goals
- Demonstrated knowledge of educational theory and practices, including focus on standards-based instruction
- Ability to identify and describe effective instructional practices (academic and behavioral) and provide feedback, coaching, and professional development to teachers to improve the quality of instruction throughout a school
- Critical background knowledge:
- Ohio Improvement Process (TBT, BLT)
- Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) structures and processes
- Strategic reading practices, aligned with the science of reading
- Shifts in standards, including 8 mathematical practices
- Culturally responsive education
- Design of classroom environments that enhance academic engagement and improve student behavior
