Estimator in Training – HVAC/R

Our client, an HVAC/R manufacturer’s representative based in Wisconsin is seeking an Estimator in Training. This business provides HVAC/R sales to a variety of commercial clients and uses a team of 6 to deliver estimated costs on a variety of HVAC/R Equipment (adding 1 team member due to increased business). This role is NOT responsible for estimating add-on materials or labor costs making this role unique within the industry. As it is unique, the client is willing to train a good base of skills. The role is based out of Waukesha, WI, includes normal M-F hours, NO on-call hours, and delivers ongoing training and certification programs. The role pays in the $55K - $70K range based on experience and comes with a strong benefit program.

The key to this role is an aptitude to learn the HVAC/R trade based on past related experience with a desire to become an Estimator in this specific HVAC skillset. The incumbent will be trained to:

• Play a fundamental role in assisting sales teams meet their sales and growth goals through estimating HVAC/R.
• Review building plans and determine equipment needs for projects
• Determine what products to bid
• Provide “plan take offs” and keep track of quantity and sizes of equipment
• Use supplier furnished software to estimate equipment costs
• Create a quotation for the products
• Review quotations with the sales teams and coordinate the bidding process

Qualifications

• 1 years experience connected to estimating, inventory control, numerical/costing research in the skilled trades arena

OR

• 1 years experience in a role related to the HVAC/R arena.
• Experience working within an account management/sales function
• Strong Microsoft office experience including MS Excel proficiency.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree
• Any HVAC/R Certification
• Experience and understanding of VFD’s, Humidifiers, Boilers, Chillers, VRF, MAU’s, DOAS, RTU’s & Custom AHU’s.
• Experience with any estimating software comparable to BlueBeam
