Our client a manufacturer of desks, tables, workstations, storage, and seating solutions for industries that include industrial, educational, commercial, healthcare and food service companies is seeking to hire a Manufacturing Process Engineer. This is a full-time (direct hire) position that offers a generous salary and full benefits including medical, dental, vision, company 401-K with match, PTO, and more. The hours for this position are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. We are seeking a Process Engineer with 3 years of experience overseeing, training, and mentoring a Production Team inside a manufacturing environment.
Position Overview
The Process Engineer is responsible for improving production processes to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and cost effectiveness. This role will lead cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing workflows, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. The position plays a key role in developing best practices, training team members, and supporting daily operations to meet production targets. Reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Key Duties:
- Partner with the Operations Management team to plan, coordinate, and implement improvement projects.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and maintenance to resolve production bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure timely and effective project execution, including follow-up after adjustments to verify results and provide ongoing support.
- Provide consistent updates and progress reports to the leadership team from project initiation through completion.
- Support employee training initiatives, including equipment operation, safety, and CNC router programming.
- Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and repeatability in production processes.
- Serve as a Production Supervisor when needed, leading crews to meet production goals.
- Assist with CNC router programming and ensure proper utilization of programming standards.
- Oversee the tooling procurement, buying, and utilization of various routers throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain compliance with company and customer requirements.
- Recommend and communicate process improvements that promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the tooling equipment is in good working order including inspection and management of tooling equipment.
Qualifications
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in field related to wood furniture, manufacturing, or engineering.
- 1 years of experience in Wood Furniture and Manufacturing industry.
- Previous supervisory experience leading projects from start to finish.
- Prefer a candidate with working knowledge of industry related tools including CNC routing machines, tooling, wood working manufacturing machines, and the ability to learn programming for CNC routing machines.
- Ability to proficiently use MS Office, Word, Excel, and learn Insight 2020.
