Our client, a global leader in Commercial Real Estate and Facilities Management is seeking a Data Center Manager. This position is part of a multiple client 4 MegaWatt-90K sq ft Data Center with a staff of 8 and growing and this role will manage the client the staff and all things “data center.” This full time role will work onsite in Lynnwood, WA, pays $180K with unlimited PTO and seeks a candidate to work normal M-F 8am-5pm hours. This role contains a strong benefit package.
The key to this role is past recent and relevant experience managing a Data Center and staff supporting all data center functions. The incumbent will:
- Manage a team responsible for providing oversight of building operations and maintenance for a large data center with multiple clients and 4 MW of power.
- Provide formal supervision to employees.
- Monitor the training and development of staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
- Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
- Schedule and manage the team's daily activities.
- Manage the relationship with the client while working with other stakeholders to meet all MSA requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring the completion of configuration management, work orders, preventative maintenance, and repairs within the agreed SLA timeframe.
- Resolve unforeseen circumstances that occur and inform the client or Sr. management when needed.
- Verify facility infrastructure equipment installations are within the agreed SLA timeframe.
- Oversee Information Technology equipment power installations, relocation and decommission requests.
- Check daily routine cleanup of the data halls and review findings.
- Confirm all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacturer, and industry standards.
- Ensure that all records are updated following any changes made. Ensure that documentation is also kept up to date for all applicable processes.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments and present to Sr. management.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
- Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years experience managing, building teams and successfully maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment in a Data Center environment.
- 5 years experience managing mechanical and electrical project work in a data center environment.
- 3 years managing a team of 5 or more employees.
- Experience completing and documenting data center installation standards and project tracking/management.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex project documents, blueprints and facilities plans.
- Knowledge of all applicable rules, laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances in performing data/communications and MEP projects.
- Experience with cost estimation and cost tracking of data center installations.
- Experience processing and tracking of purchase order requests and invoice tracking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
