Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add a Facilities Manager to their leadership team in Georgetown, TX. This leader will interface with a key client in managing all things data center operations 24/7/365. This Data Center operates in 1000 square feet of space. This leader is responsible for a staff of 20 and will work closely with this staff and the client to assure upkeep, maintenance and advancement of this 18 MW data center. This role is based, onsite, in Georgetown, TX, requires no travel, pays a salary in the $180K range with 8% bonus, a strong benefit package including UNLIMITED PTO. Relocation packages are available for qualified candidates.
The key to this role is past recent and relevant experience managing a data center at this scale (20 employees/18 MW). This will take a proven leader with a confident style, strong organizational skills, patience and technical abilities in the DC space. This role oversees the operations and development of a team of Critical Environment engineers onsite, ensuring they provide both Preventative Maintenance and Repair Services to the Client (within agreed Service Level Agreement.) This role also assists the client's Data Center Team, providing support for Data Center operations and provides on-site support for the provision and maintenance of Critical Environment services.
The incumbent will:
- Manage unforeseen circumstances that occur and provide relevant feedback to client/management where necessary.
- Mentor & motivate the Critical Environment team, providing them with regular feedback to ensure they continually improve. Identify areas for training where necessary.
- Take responsibility for Configuration Management CMMS Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance (PM), Configuration Management (CM), or Repairs within the agreed SLA timeframe, or escalate if issues cannot be resolved promptly.
- Ensure the completion of:
- Facility infrastructure equipment installations within the agreed SLA timeframe and to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards.
- Information Technology equipment power installations, relocation and decommission requests within the agreed SLA timeframes and to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards.
- Daily routine checks and cleanup of the data halls and record their findings.
- Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting support (chiller, Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC), Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Power Distribution Unit (PDU), Static Transfer Switches (STS), etc.)
- Ensure all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacture and industry standards.
- Ensure that all records are updated following any changes made and that documentation is also kept up to date for all applicable processes.
- Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks, providing safe working practices at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years experience in mechanical or electrical engineering
- 3 years experience working in a data center environment
- 3 years experience managing a team of 10 in a Critical Environment
- 3 years experience performing/managing installation of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure and Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Proven knowledge of Critical Facility and Data Center equipment and components including UPS, PDU, STS, EG, CRAC, CRAH
- Strong understanding of 24/7/365 Data Center environments, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments.
- Experience working with/managing a client with understanding of an MSA/SLA environment.
- Experience working with financial data related to all of the above qualifications and using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet.
- Ability to pass criminal/credit FBI background check
- Accredited training in the installation of DC Facilities Infrastructure and Building Management System (BMS), preferred.
Salary : $180,000
