The Customer Technical Service Representative will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, supporting packaging projects, resolving technical issues, and ensuring products meet customer specifications and performance expectations. This individual will partner closely with Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, and customer teams while providing technical guidance and delivering high-quality service throughout the customer lifecycle.
Job Description:
Customer & Technical Support
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for customer packaging projects and related initiatives
• Act as a technical advisor for internal Sales teams and provide support to customers regarding packaging solutions and performance requirements
• Develop a strong understanding of customer packaging needs and approval processes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Technical Investigations & Problem Resolution
• Investigate customer concerns and complaints or coordinate investigations with internal teams as needed
• Analyze packaging performance issues and develop recommendations for corrective actions or solutions
• Conduct field evaluations and assessments while documenting findings and communicating results
• Support issue resolution activities with a focus on quality, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction
Packaging & Process Support
• Review material specifications, packaging applications, and potential material substitutions
• Assist with technical evaluations and support packaging performance analysis
• Support thermal processing activities and related testing where applicable
• Assist with identifying and resolving container performance or dimensional concerns
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training
• Partner with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to support customer and business objectives
• Participate on cross-functional teams focused on quality, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide technical education and training to customers and internal teams on packaging-related topics
• Support training efforts for plant personnel and technical teams as needed
Compliance & Safety
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain compliance with company and customer safety requirements
• Ensure work aligns with technical standards, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements
• Support initiatives focused on maintaining a safe and effective work environment
Must Have Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field
• Previous experience in packaging, manufacturing, technical service, or related environments preferred
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority responsibilities simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability and willingness to travel as business needs require
Nice to Have Qualifications:
• Experience supporting customer-facing technical or packaging projects
• Exposure to quality systems, manufacturing processes, or packaging specifications
• Familiarity with thermal processing, testing procedures, or product evaluations
• Experience conducting investigations and root cause analysis
• Background in food manufacturing or consumer packaging environments
