General Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Installation, termination of low voltage throughout new construction homes.
  • Installing and terminating RG-6, CAT 5, and CAT 6A.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Ensuring all installs are done in a neat and workmanlike manner, safely, to builder specifications and current NEC code.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Installing and terminating wiring for low voltage equipment in new home construction
  • Installing WAP’s (wireless access points), ring doorbells, standard doorbells, low voltage chimes etc.
  • Troubleshooting problems with low voltage equipment used in new home construction. i.e. security cameras, video doorbells, security systems, wireless equipment


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Accuracy with measurements
  • Ability to scale prints and properly read prints
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Low voltage knowledge especially pertaining to CAT 5, CAT 6A and cable connections.
  • Basic Home Automation


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to ¬¬¬¬¬50 pounds at times.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools for extended periods of time.
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • At least one year of field experience
