JOB DESCRIPTION: Expeditor
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities include tracking, sorting and storing Edlen inventory, working with the electrical team regarding material needs for events and maintaining the integrity of Edlen storage areas within the Facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Ensure all materials, supplies and equipment received are processed, distributed and/or stored in a timely manner and tagged with appropriate Edlen labeling.
2. Inspect shipments to ensure accuracy of order, as well as document any damages or defects. Immediately return packing slips to Office Manager/General Manager.
3. Move materials, supplies and equipment from the respective storage location (shop) to various locations throughout the Facility.
4. Refresh materials in “boneyards” on show site, as needed. Track materials on Load List.
5. Fill and update “load lists” for each large show, tracking damages upon collection.
6. Track the use of Edlen hand & power tools/equipment, such as drills.
7. Track the maintenance of parts and equipment. Communicate the status and future maintenance dates to Lead Expeditor.
8. Check for daily deliveries, packages and mail and deliver to the appropriate areas.
9. Shift materials between onsite shops/warehouses depending upon upcoming events.
10. Assist electrical team with material pick-up and drop-off, as needed, including the clean out of meeting rooms.
11. Assist Lead Expeditor with inventory reporting on as assigned
12. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) with one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals. Ability to communicate effectively,
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to pay attention to detail while working in a fast-paced convention center. Must possess Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain this.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Considerable physical activity is involved, including heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects. May require walking primarily on a level surface throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist as well as lifting and manipulating heavy objects. Proper lifting techniques required. Lift up to 25 lbs. Certified to drive forklift. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to cold and hot temperatures. There may also be exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
HOURS: Working early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays is required to prep and service events. Due to the last minute nature of the work schedules are subject to change with very little or no notice.
TRAVEL: The amount of travel is dependent upon the business need. Must be able to communicate to multiple show sites.
TRANSPORTATION: Reliable transportation is required due to varied hours and work locations.

Edlen offers a competitive salary for this non-exempt role. Final compensation within the posted range is determined by multiple factors, including experience, skills, education, and market conditions.
