What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Child Care Assistant position at Edina Public Schools?
Do you love working with kids? Join Edina Public Schools' Community Education Department as an After School Child Care Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to support our Program Supervisors in planning and delivering engaging after school programs. No formal training required.

Your Role Will Include:
- Creating and running extra-curricular activities for students in kindergarten through 5th grade, including art, music, games, and more.
- Supervising lunch, recess, attendance, and dismissal.
- Helping with the setup of the classroom and activities.
Qualifications:
- No formal childcare experience is required - we are looking for individuals who have a passion for helping people and enjoy working with kids.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a background check.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive pay, starting at $18.94/hour (HS Diploma or equivalent required) up to $24.04/hour based on experience.
- On-the-job paid training for first aid, CPR, child development, and working with students with special needs.

Location & Shift Times:
- Edina Elementary School Sites.
- Part-Time PM: 2 PM - 5:45 PM.
- Start Date: August 2026.
